Orion Jupilles
Description: As founders of ORION Cooperage, we came together with one common mission: To offer the finest barrels, supported by the best customer service, in the industry. It is our belief that the quality of a product depends on the seamless integration of carefully chosen raw materials and the expertise of a highly qualified production team utilizing both artisanal know-how and state of the art equipment. The spirit of partnership is the cornerstone of our philosophy; partnership between all of us on the ORION team, partnership with our suppliers, and partnership with our clients.
FOREST DESIGNATES
Under the expert eye of Franck Monteau, the wood that is ultimately made into ORION barrels is carefully selected to ensure the highest quality with the desired tightness and consistency of grain. All our French oak comes from the Center of France. Although the great majority of the barrels requested are a COF blend, the client has the option of choosing a specific forest or forests for each barrel: Allier, Jupilles, Troncais, Vosges and occasionally Nievres and Bertranges, are all possibilities.

Overall a nice barrel, offers resinous and savory notes that do not overpower fruit character. Scored in the middle of the pack in a barrel trial for a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon brand, but it was interesting to me.
