Ana Selection (French Oak)
Description: Ana-Sélection, Trie-sur-Baïse 65220 France |
Makers of fine French oak barrels for the international wine industry. Three types of barrels available: Transport, Chateau Ferrée and Chateau Tradition. All made with fine grain French oak, staves cut to 22 mm.
I was told today by a user of these barrels that they are Seguin Moreau barrels, true or false.

I have tried these barrels with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons. The bottom line is that they do not accenuate aroma defects in herbal regions, but they do not add positive aroma or taste attributes. I am looking for a more definitive barrel to make luxury Cabernet Sauvignon based wines. I bet these barrels would work with white wines.

We tasted this barrel along with Remond and Gamba. The oak aroma of this barrel was not preferred over the Remond barrels. This barrel had a muted aroma profile.
