Pinot Noir Clone-Dijon-777
Description: Clone 777, one of 46 recognized clones from Dijon, is one of the two most favored clones at the time of the Phylloxera replant. The other clone is 667. After a number of years professionals favor 667 over 777.
Reviewed By WebMaster Consultant
"The 777 is a low-yield, fast-ripening selection that can make an ugly monster of a wine if it is not carefully farmed -- but when paid proper attention, it makes a deeply colored and structured wine with intense dark fruit aromas."

Yes winemakers seem to favor 667 over 777, yet I have seen others say that 777 is just as high quality, too.
