Pinot Noir Clone-Dijon-667
Description: Clone 667, one of 46 recognized clones from Dijon, is one of the two most favored clones at the time of the Phylloxera replant. The other clone is 777. After a number of years professionals favor 667 over 777.

Some winemakers say, 667 is variable, others late ripening. The jury is still out on 667, much as it is on 338 for Cabernet Sauvignon.

I have had many great wines made with Clone 667. In the Carneros it performs well north of highway 121. In the central coast it performs just as well as Pommard, 2a, and others. I have not seen it perform very well in Sonoma Coast, but it could just be the terroir is too cold.
