Pigment-High Color Purple (HCP)
Description: Manufacturer says, "There are those who criticize wines made from concentrates as being derived from synthetic products. However, statistics show that more and more contest medal winning wines are produced from concentrates. That percentage is likely to grow as talented winemakers use high quality concentrates in their winemaking." IS THIS A PRODUCT FOR LUXURY RED WINES? Rating: 70

Interviewed Napa Valley winemakers using this product with mixed results. Good results with some Cabernet based wines, Merlot, and Zinfandel. Poor results with some Cabernet based wines, Grenach and Syrah. It gives results equivilent to adding 10% highly colored wines to poorly colored Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel. Warnings: It does not work in all cases. It is a 68 Brix product. Benefit: It does work with wines up to 12 months of age. | |
