As the clock ticks this tannin continues to be sold by Laffort. Product data safety sheet says this is "TANNINS or ATOMIZED EXTRACT OF WOOD". Check with our company which is testing most of the tannins sold to the California wine industry beginning October 2012. We are standardizing the tannins "power" against a pure tannin available to our company.

I agree, this a tannin that works with Pinot Noirs, too. I have experimented extensively with tannin adjuncts with Pinot Noir. In a blind experiment submitted to Enologix for analysis we found that it did change the Tannin, whereas Tannin concentration over that of the control. It is superior to Taniraisin.
This is a good cheap product, with a distinct toasty aroma attribute. And it improves wine, and Tannin additions plus enzymes worked well with Pinot Noir made in Santa Maria," said one central coast winemaker.
