(top) | | For sure my best barrel for both French and American.
Good thing with this cooperage is you can discuss about the goal you want to achieve and they fine tune the barrels for you, works perfect if you are ready to discuss and exchange information with them.

(top) | | One winemaker used the word aweful to describe this barrel's attributes with Napa Valley wines.

(top) | | Tried many times for Cabernet wines, found did not win blind tastings as too harsh.

| | | | These are popular barrels but they do not work in my Central Coast because they are resinous. But they are a much much better barrel than the Cognac barrels arriving here in California. | |

(top) | | These are barrel are inconsistent and have a tendency to add a green attribute to Bordeaux based wines, not for Napa Valley flagship wines.

(top) | | These are planky barrels, no different than Seguin Moreau, they do not give weight, fat, sweet attributes to the mid-pallette. No for red wines.

| | | | These are one of our four barrel manfactuers we use for Central Coast Pinot Noir. | |

| | | | In my experience barrels are being selected by winemakers to enhance regional characteristics. Though these are some of the finest barrels made in terms of construction I view them as exclusively for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. However I have seen these barrels used by some Pinot Noir producers in the Central Coast (D. Alfred), when winemakers perceive they are equal to Fr. Freres. | |

| | | | Radoux is a good barrel for Pinot Noir with respect to aromatics but the taste does not follow. Analysis by Enologix shows a new Radoux M barrel will reduce the quality Index of a Pinot Noir. Contact Enologix to verify. | |
