A positive report came from a customer using this barrel to make Cabernet Sauvignons with only 45% new French oak barrels. One of our winemakers tasted the wine and loved the results.

Reviewed By Leo McCloskey Winemaker Review Date 02/02/11 Rating Mixed	Remond barrels in general are excellent, but the COF barrels a just that much more rustic than the Bertanges that I do not use them for Cabernet Sauvignons which have high potential for sauvage or wild aroma attributes that turn herbal, i.e. Santa Cruz mountains. I do not trust the COF as much as a specific forest appellation.

The Center of France barrels do not score as high as the Bertranges barrels in blind tastings for cool climate and hillside Cabernet Sauvignons, such as Santa Cruz Mountains, Howell Mountain.
