Winemaker, Leo McCloskey created the idea of quality recognition software in 1989. He tapped fragrance expert Dr. Susanne Arrhenius to help with color, flavor and fragrance analyses. Dr. Marshall Sylvan, then head of the Department of Mathematics at University of California Santa Cruz, helped with statistical models. Between 1989 and 1992 a dozen winemakers such as, Dick Graff, Chalone Wine Group, and Paul Draper at Ridge Vineyard adopted the system for their winemaking. The result was an average 5-point rise in national critics’ ratings. In 1993 McCloskey launched today’s Enologix. Now, 20 years later Paul Draper and over fifty (50) other winemakers rely on Enologix to deliver vital information and make world class wines. XXXXXXXXXXXX
